Selfie Sunday : Ferdz, the Ironwulf of En Route

Top-loading in Bukidnon

This Sunday's feature is easy for me to write because I personally know this awesome travel blogger. I have tagged along in some of his trips and consider myself lucky to be in the circle of his travel blogging friends. Ferdinand Decena or Ferdz is one of the pioneers of travel blogging in the Philippines and his blog, Enroute, serves as a barometer to what is great in travel-photo blogosphere.

I know, I sounded like a fan but I really am a fan of Ferdz. His photography skills are out-of-this world and the way he writes feels like you are traveling along with him. His personal style and absolute eye on details garnered him various awards from Philippine Blog Awards, Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards and Philippine Web Awards to name a few.

On a personal level, Ferdz is a down-to-earth, humble guy that is just fun to be with. And traveling with him is always a good time filled with food, photography, food, travel stories, food, gadgets, gossips about other bloggers ... and did I mention food?

As to the Selfie above, Ferdz said it was taken while top-loading on a jeepney in Quezon, Bukidnon during his Travel Mindanao trip. That time, Ferdz was with other travel bloggers heading to the house of Shugah.

For more of Ferdz amazing photos and travel stories, check out En Route. And if you wanna check out the latest food craze and an honest-to-goodness review of your favorite diner, check out Happy Foodies, a food blog he maintains with another good buddy of ours, Oggie Ramos.

  5. I agree. Sir Ferdz is very humble and easy to be with :) . He is 1 among my inspirations in landscape and long exposure photography. I'm absolutely lucky that I met him and traveled with him during the #TravelMindanao project days. Also, through him, I got a fansign from my ultimate idol in travel blogging.. hahaha.
