Let The Flowers Bloom - Panagbenga 2010

Other than being a love month, February ushers in one of my favorite Philippine festivities - the Panagbenga Flower Festival in Baguio. Now on its 15th year and amply themed "Celebrating 15 Years of Festival Excellence", this year's festivity promises to be bigger and grander as it aims to solicit more cheers from the crowd.

Calendar of events for this year, (taken from GoBaguio Website) are as follows:

I have witnessed the Grand Street Parade and the Grand Float Parade countless times and have even featured the events of two previous Panagbenga Festivals in this blog. Hopefully, I wish could clear some time to visit Baguio again specially on February 27 and 28 for the Grand Parades.

In any case, let the flowers bloom and enjoy Panagbenga 2010.

Must you start booking your hotel reservations this early since the festival obviously attracts thousands to Baguio.

I'm sure they will have better presentations and costumes this year.

It has been so long since I have visited Baguio. I guess now is the best time to go there. Some of my friends are disappointed on how Baguio turned out to be now. The pollution, overcrowding and infrastructures there seem to make Baguio less of a paradise now. I just hope that I wont be disappointed when I go back there.

I think that hill was once a "watch tower". It has a vantage point and can see who is coming in/going out of the area. An "early warning" site from moro raids.
