Agta Beach @ Biliran

Every island has its own beach - that is a given. Therefore, the Philippines, having more than seven thousand islands definitely has more than seven thousand beaches. There are famous ones such as Boracay, Puerto Galera, Palawan, Dakak and Pagudpud, but there are also equally appealing less-famous ones such as the Agta Beach in the Province of Biliran.

Tinago Falls @ Biliran

The province of Biliran is an island paradise waiting to be explored. It used to be a sub-province of Leyte until 1992 when it became a full-fledged province. Known in the Eastern Visayas region as a province of so many Waterfalls, I wasted no time in checking out the place when the opportunity arise.

Kwebang Lampas @ Pagbilao, Quezon

Kwebang Lampas translated to English literally means a cave that overshoot its mark. I just don't know how this cave got its name but I think that this cave is situated perfectly on where it is. Located at the right side of the Puting Buhangin Beach Cove in Pagbilao, Quezon, this cave is accessible via a leisurely swim from the beach shore or a short trek amidst rocks and stones on the cove's jagged corners.

I think I might have enjoyed this place too much. Because looking back at my files, I have noticed that I have taken very few shots of this beach. Usually, whenever I go to a place like this, the first thing I do is survey the place and then take shots after shots for about an hour or two. But this time, maybe because of the heat, the long ride, and the inviting beach, the first thing I do was take my shirts off and plunge at the Puting Buhangin Beach. The downside is, I have enjoyed myself too much that shooting photos have to take the back seat.

Heading to Pagbilao

While in Cagbalete, we met another group of backpackers who stayed in the same resort where we stayed. They asked us if we want to go to Pagbilao with them just to maximized our trip. When they told us that Pagbilao offers a hidden treasure of a cove, we readily said yes.

At the start of this Cagbalete Series, I have mentioned that the four of us who went there were mistaken as a Rock Group, err a Combo Band, in Mauban. Maybe because we all wore dark clothes and maybe they have mistaken our cam gears and cased tripods as musical instruments, but then again, that mistaken identity stuck with us in Cagbalete, thus, the Comboboyz was formed.

Bonsai Island, Cagbalete

Off the coast of Cagbalete Beach, there lies a small speck of an islet which locals call Bonsai Island. During Low Tide, visitors can walk to this island and marvel at the amazing wide flat stone which resembles that of a stone pavement. On these stones, you can see a couple of trees similar to those trees you can see in mangroves. The island is amazing to visit because of the crevices filled with trapped sea water with some small fishes. Then there are also lots of stickweeds or tree roots sticking up from the yellow sand.

Cagbalete - Perfect Place for Reflection

Probably the best place to talk to God and reflect is on one of His best creations. Imagine this to surround you... bright blue sky, fine stretch of white sand, clear and cool beach waters, green vegetations and trees, amazing rock formations and endless silhouttes of mountains on the backgound. Then, there is just you and your GOD... ain't you lucky to be alive and enjoying all of these?

Spectacular Cagbalete Beach

Pardon the excitement in the title but spectacular could not even give justice to what I have witnessed in Cagbalete. We arrived there at low tide so we were greeted with what is probably the widest beach shore I have ever seen so far. In fact, you will think twice of swimming in the beach because the nearest swimmable waters from the shore is a good ten minute walk amidst the glaring sunlight.

Cagbalete Sunrise

Sunrise + Beach = Heaven. The Comboboys (more on this on future post) woke-up early to catch a glimpse of the beautiful sunrise in Cagbalete. Having been disappointed by the sudden turn of the weather that prevented us from witnessing the sunset the night before, we deemed it a must to wait for this sunrise since this is the lone chance we have on this overnight trip.
