Bantayan Island - A Look Back

This post is a look back of my feature on idyllic and beautiful island of Bantayan. From the white beaches of Sta. Fe to the century old church of Bantayan Town and the ruins of Madridejos, hope you will enjoy the views as I have captured them. Let me share to you not only photos but stories of my experience as I feature one of the best trips I had in 2009.

How to go there? Bantayan Island is accessible by air, land and sea. There are daily trips by bus (3 to 4 hours on Ceres, Rough Riders, Sunrays) and vehicles for hire at the North Bus terminal in Cebu City to Hagnaya and from there, one can take a ferry (1 hour, 15 minutes on Island Shipping) to Sta. Fe. There is also a night ferry from Cebu City to Bantayan (Palacio Shipping Lines) but you have to check the schedule because it often changes. Boats depart in Pier 1 in Cebu City.

Brilliant shots! Thanks for sharing them. It warms me up. My Muskoka is having driving rain and cold temperatures. Very close to it being snow.

LS: That looks like a wonderful island to visit. I love all the fish on the drying racks. The fisherman must have the Gods with them.

I'm particularly interested about the old church and the danggit entries. I am looking forward to visiting again a danggit drying field. I think I saw one in Masbate, but I regret that I didn't take a picture then.

Bantayan is a beautiful place...been there too the time when photography was still not in my mind and when the age of camera was still on films. Great to see photos of the place here in your blog. Have a wonderful week ahead. You are travel buddies of Allan and Dong, right?
