Pardon the excitement in the title but spectacular could not even give justice to what I have witnessed in Cagbalete. We arrived there at low tide so we were greeted with what is probably the widest beach shore I have ever seen so far. In fact, you will think twice of swimming in the beach because the nearest swimmable waters from the shore is a good ten minute walk amidst the glaring sunlight.Cagbalete is an excellent relatively tourist-free beach with creamy yellow sand underfoot gently sloping beach that lets you walk really far out before you even get your bum wet and the place exhibits an uncanny calm that is both relaxing and spooky.
Here are the first installment of beach photos I have taken there:
Cagbalete is located at the east coast of Quezon Province and is accessible via banca from the pier of Mauban. I was with the company of backpackers lead by Dong Ho during this trip. Check out his take on the place on his Eskapo blog.
More photos and stories from Cagbalete on my next posts.

Indeed...it looks like your life is a beach ! ;-)
Another set of awesome pictures! Lucky you... I am always stuck in Manila :-(
Very beautiful scenery. It looked like no man's land and also like a scene from the TV show Survivor. That reminds me to watch it tonight. :) Have a nice weekend, lawstude.
Hello The Dong! Mr. Lawstude,
Wow! These are really breathtaking photos of a beautiful place.
Great capture!
so deserted and private! looks like you had this paradise all to yourselves!
Did not notice the flat rocks as highlighted by dong ho. Is the rocks in another area at the beach?
Isn't life a beach indeed? I especially loved that last photo, me being a big fan of naked limbs of trees.
Haaayyzzzz sana ako din makapunta na kami ng beach this Holyweek. Ang saya talaga ng buhay mo kuya Oman.

Wow, that is super low tide, I can see the wide shore and the water just a little far!

Hi Norman! Amazing! But having to wait for the high tide to swim a bit doesn't make my day... ;)
The sunrise is indeed spectacular! It's wonderful to see that there are people already awaken to catch those pictures; or should I say «still awaken?» ;))
India 2008 has come to an end at Blogtrotter, but there is a lot to see there, still in the BRIC countries… ;). Enjoy and have a great Sunday!
Wow. Ang lapad nga ng pampang. Iitim tyak ako bago makarating sa tubig. I like the last pic best.
ayan na inggit nanaman ako magksama kyong naglakbay ni kuya dong!
wla ka po bang adventures sa spain or portugal? pupunta ka po ba ng pampanga for the holy week?
A visit to your blog is almost as wonderful as a day at the beach. Lovely, as always.
the best places to go to when you want to ponder... so serene.
sayang mas nauna akong magsiargao kesa makita ang cagbalete sa post mo. di ko tuloy maappreciate. *yabang* hehehe.
pero totoo nga. sorry this time...
Holy kamolie! This is really beautiful! Sana it remains that way, sana huwag nila gawan ng resort at ng kung anu-ano. The yellow sand is awesome!
really nice pristine looking, wilderness type beach - as you said , "tourist free" :)
that explains why we didnt have the chance to swim there. hahaha...
i like the first and the last shot the most. galing!
