Science City of Muñoz

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the only City in the Philippines that has a school subject attached to it. In fact, it is the first and only Science City of the country. The City is expected to contribute widely on the fast growth and development not only of the region but the nation through the technologies developed by the research and development centers based within its territorial jurisdiction.

The City is home to the Central Luzon State University which is declared as the agro-tourism center for Luzon as well as science centers/labs of The Philippine Rice Research Institute, Philippine Carabao Center, Bureau of Postharvest Research and Extension and the National Freshwater Fishery Technology Center.

teka, yung carabao resting, totoo ba? at yung carabao staring, na-notice ko ang sungay, hindi yan totoo?

LS: Loved all the photos but that Carabao photo is priceless. He is giving you a snooty look.

It's near the university where I graduated. Pangasinan State University Bayambang but I have never been here. And yeah, I heard a lot of good things about this place. Glad to see these pics here. Now I have a more clear idea of what they are talking about.....

carlotta1924 said...

such majestic trees, peaceful scenery. and yeah, that carabao in the last pic sure looks funny! =)

ano kaya kung gumawa ka rin ng posts sa mga shots mo ng animals in cute/funny poses? :D

Lawstude said...

@ luna miranda - thanks. the university is quite large so a bicycle is a nice tool to go around the place. nasisilungan naman ng mga acacia ang lace kaya malilim.

Lawstude said...

@ r-yo - tama ka panyero, it is indeed nice, masarap din lubutan yon specially their place called little baguio.

Lawstude said...

@ pernille - it is ok. beautiful photos need no words, they usually speak for themselves. thanks for the visit.

Lawstude said...

@ nanaybelen - salamat po sa pagboto. next to UP-Diliman, isa itong CLSU sa pinakamalawak at magandang state university na nakita ko.

thanks GOD at ok naman si joshua.

Lawstude said...

@ pts - indeed. thanks.

Lawstude said...

@ evlahos - hahaha. he maybe curious what the hell am i doing in front of him. these are gentle animals so the chance of an attack is almost minimal.

Lawstude said...

@ redlan - oo naman bro. these are real carabaos and i took those shots in a closest way possible.

Lawstude said...

@ fishing guy - priceless indeed, thanks again for liking the pics.

Lawstude said...

@ salingpusa - you should check the place if you have time. there are lots of things to see there like demos and plantations. or you could just wander around like what i did.

Lawstude said...

@ carlotta1924 - thanks. you certainly gave me an idea. i already featured a monkey, a tiger, an ostrich and a cute tarsier in my previous post and i could certainly add my pets at home. i'll sum them up and post one soon.

First of all, I love water towers and I think they make great pictures. The centennial trees picture could have been taken in some of our southern USA cities. I enjoyed all of these pictures but my very favorite is the hero statue. He really looks like a hero.
I had no idea what it looks like in the Philippines so it's nice to see all these great pictues.

galing pala ng munoz. dami palang research na dyan ginagawa parang sa benguet state university and uplb.

im proud that actually new developments results to new technology in this town for our country.

There you go I cast my vote at the poll.

The rows of trees are slightly reminiscent of a walk in Central Park! And the first photo of the carabao is a nice Pinoy scene.

Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your kind comments. Two more days til the weekend!

Lawstude said...

@ the dong - korek dom, kaya tinawag na science city eh kasi maraming R&D na ginagawa doon. masarap din libutan yung CLSU kasi malawak at malamig.

Lawstude said...

@ neva - i think carabaos are also called water buffalos and they are our national animal and very useful in the farms.

Lawstude said...

@ carlos - thanks. my country really has lots to offer whether you want the beach, mountains or just laid-back atmosphere such as this town.

Lawstude said...

@ daniel j santos - thanks my friend.

Lawstude said...

@ joy - very pinoy indeed. the carabao and the farm are very rural and very pinoy.

Lawstude said...

@ coldman - uy bro, kinukumusta ka nila, miss ka na daw nila.

atticus said...

hey lawstude! did you buy one of those carabao milk candies? winner diyan.

kung pwede lang diyan na ako magturo at tumira. hehe.

well, may science subject ngang nakadikit sa pangalan ng bayan na iyan.

iyong isang islang napuntahan ko, ang haba ng pangalan. island garden city of samal. they had to invent an acronym for it to make it shorter: IGACOS.

ang babaduy ng lawmakers natin. letse.

Lawstude said...

@ bw - very novel indeed. what's next? mathematics city of quezon or english city of cebu lols.

now that you mentioned it, im glad the carabao didn't gore me.

Lawstude said...

@ dhes - thanks. you will pass talavera if you will go to munoz coming from cabanatuan. there are also lots of carabaos there.

Lawstude said...

@ atticus - yup. the best yung pastillas made from carabao's milk.

it's a nice place to live naman because of the university.

IGACOS - parang mas maganda yung samal island na lang lols.

hi LS. my first time here and i'm surprised with the volume of places you have featured! i shall backtrack my way through them. you have an amazing site.

for this post, it was easy to pick a favorite, 2 of them actually: the water tank/tree and the carabao. the last pic had an amazing composition and symmetry. as i was leafing through the other comments, i noticed i wasn't alone. very nice indeed!

I miss home. I miss CLSU. It's been 9 years since I last stepped on the portals of my alma mater. Nice photos. I missed that old water tank. That's part of the ROTC HQ when I was there.

I miss the century old trees too.
And ur ryt about the Little Baguio. It's nice.
