Puka Beach, Boracay

Puka Beach is the second longest beach in Boracay and it covers half of the island's northern tip. The sand here is more silica and a little more grainy. The mild, gentle waves lapping the beach provide a pleasant background noise common to islands fringed with coral reefs.

The beach itself is 800 meters long and named after Puka Shells. These are small shells and tiny, white coral pieces prized for making bracelets and necklaces. Many experts regard these shells as one of the world's finest.
Here are some of my shots taken at Puka Beach - an intoxicating mix of sun, sand and nonsobriety:

Drift Woods Planted on the Beach

From Drifts to Prominence

Beach Volleyball Net

Pure Shores

A Make-Shift Bench

A Complimentary Greens

Don't You Just Want to Walk There?

Mixture of Puka Shells, White Stones and Broken Corals

There are various ways of reaching Puka Beach. You may either hire a tricycle from the Island Proper and it will take you about 30 minutes to reach the beach. You can also rent ATV, motorbikes or bicycles and just drove your way to the northers part of the island. However, To fully appreciate the magnificent scenery, you can take a motorized outrigger trip that will bring you to the shores of the beach.

This is my favorite beach sa Bora kse for me eto yung pinaka picturesque :) Great shots atty. lalo na yung Pure Shores kse parang sandbar lang sya.

I heard nga na it would be the next Boracay in the years to come. I'm curious to see it kse ganyan daw ang Bora dati nung mga 1980s. I really love to go there dati dati pa pero parating nauudlot. May I know how you get there & how much you spent for the trip?

pag pupunta ako dyan malamang nakamotor. hehehe... i did the same thing in bantayan.

looking forward for more more photos. parang nandun na rin ako.

You have some incredibly beautiful photos .. just amazing. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I'm glad to have found yours by a return click. :)

I'm pretty sure, marami ka pang shots na ipapakita. It would be a breath-taking. Nung last time ko pumunta ng bora, na bad trip ako kaya hindi akjo masyado nakapag enjoy. last summer nawalan na ako ng gana pumunta.

More more pics @ Lawstude. Thanks!

Lawstude said...

@ bakhrian - it was really an unforgettable week. very refreshing indeed.

it's ok for you to use some of my pics. permission granted. enjoy.

Lawstude said...

@ ar-wee-der-yet - i feel the same way carlo kaya i started the still pics series with this beach.

nag-hire ako ng boat costing Php2,500 for the whole day na yun and kasama na yung tour around the shores and beaches of the island. then pag nasa island ka na in san jose naghire ako ng motorcycle for Php 300 para magpunta sa highest point nila called Tagaytay.

Lawstude said...

Lawstude said...

@ vanessa - what are you waiting for? go go go.

Lawstude said...

@ rio - salamat doc, kakatuwa yang make-shift bench na yan kasi talagang nakaharang yan sa shoreline. kakatuwa tuloy kuhanan.

Lawstude said...

Lawstude said...

@ beero - thanks beero, i really wanted to share my trips and i suggest puntahan nyo rin yon kasi there is really nothing like the real thing.

Lawstude said...

@ hillary - thank you and welcome to my blog.

Lawstude said...

@ redlan - hey how is the hiatus coming? marami pa ko shots sa boracay and i hope di kayo magsawa kasi nalibot ko na ang buong island and isa talaga itong paradise.

just email me the address and your postcard will be sent to you. ingat.

great photos. i like puka. everytime i go there, there's hardly a soul around. yun nga lang, there's scanty shades available and the waves are absolutely wild! but it's nice to just sit under the canopy of the coconut trees and looking at carabao island (right?).
