Rice fields, hills and rivers dominate the Palayan Landscape. A traveler can wander around Palayan's vast plain and get lost in its immerse ins and outs so it is advisable to get friendly with the locals and ask them to tour you around the City. While Palayan is indeed very laid-back, a wary traveler can still find beauty in its tranquil environment.

Lovely images! I especially like The Golden Crop, the River, and the falls.
You really do take amazing photos of your travels.
Thanks for your visit today and hope you are having a great day.
the pahingahan fall is beautifully photographed.
i love the environment of palayan. yan yung mga tipo kong tirhan habambuhay. tahimik at pres ang air.
bastat may ilog at bundok ayos na.
wonderful shots! the golden crop and the pahingahan waterfalls are my favorite. i was invited to a wedding in palayan city last May, unfortunately, i wasn't able to go. nagsisi tuloy ako.:D
oman, i should say that boring is relative :-)
for the seasoned traveler, the challenge of going places, even the simplest ones, is finding the beautiful and unique things that a place can offer.
I like the second photo; shows clearly the golden crop.
;)
the spillway looks amazing; i dont really have any idea what a rice field looks like, but i do now!
I love that waterfall! very nice photos!
I haven't been to Nueva Ecija - as places that take longer than 1 hour by car from Alabang or have no airports are difficult for me to visit.
Love the waterfalls!
Thanks for visiting Norwich Daily Photo and leaving your kind comments. How is your week going so far?
joy
The greenery is the best part. I think you get the best view in the Philippines during the onset of the rainy season coz the grass are at it's best. Unlike during summer when everything looks dry, dead or pale. The fusion of water is also great to see. Love your photos here.....
Hello again everyone. It is a long weekend indeed. Hope everyone had a great week-end.
@ carletta - thanks. you will see more of rice fields in the upcoming posts because the posts will be about Nueva Ecija - the rice capital of the Philippines.
@ estan - well said. i am really tempted to describe the place as boring but when i saw the pics that i have taken there, i too was amazed because boring is nowhere near to describe the place.
@ kyels - i think it's my first close-up of palay. some previous shots where shots of fields. thanks.
mediterranean kiwi - my country's main meal is rice and it comes from palay. glad i shared some info and pics on it to you. thanks.
@ luke - that waterfall was also a surprise to me. i didn't know it existed in that place. thanks to some kids who lead me to it.
@ joy - i am sorry. we do not have airports here. guess you have to endure four hours of travelin from manila. thanks.
@ salingpusa - i agree. during summer, its more of yellow because of lack of water but in rainy season, these rice fields really come alive.
kakainggit nga mga bata eh, pag matanda kasi yun tapos nakahubo medyo masagwa na tingnan yata hehehe.
your photo titled "The Golden Field" reminds me of the Fidelisan Rice Terraces in Sagada. Lamig sa mata! Love also the Pahingahan Falls. reminds me naman of the Wawa Dam in Montalban Rizal.
The Pahingahan Falls is just breath-taking. It's the best photo of this batch.
hello atty!
I visited and voted.
Good luck (you're winning!)
I hope you win the contest! this is an amazing blog here!

Ang nice ng falls
LS: A beautiful city that you capture so well. It's nice to see the slowed down pace of this city.
Indeed a very laid back town judging from the nice photos you took. I love the shots of the lake and the greenery. The place does seem so tranquil.
@ random ramblings - alam mo tagal ko na sa nueva ecija but it was the first time i saw this type of rice field here. akala ko puro plain field lang, ito medyo elevated at parang terraces ang dating eh.
@ vinzent - yan bro ang swerteng aksidente. i went there for the lake, that falls is indeed a bonus.
@ kris jaspr van dyke - thanks bro. hopefully magtuloy-tuloy ang panalo.

@ aline - thanks. its a lucky accident really.
@ fishing guy - each place really has something to offer and this laid-back city is no exception. thanks.
@ panaderos - the place is almost 90% rural so it is indeed a very laid-back place. thanks for the visit bro.

Good picture, good blog
Those water falls are just magnificent. Your blogging is great as usual.
Also, my dog is a long haired miniature miniature dachshund. She is a great dog.
I think people are just moving on a really laid back pace here which can get really boring if you're used to the fast paced urban lifestyle.
Ganda ng falls, man made sya?
@ artofreed - thanks.
@ travis - thanks, just lucky to have wandered around the place.
thanks for the info about your dog.
@ ferdz - that's true. urbanites can find the pace of rural really boring.
yes, the falls is man-made and a spillway connects it to the lake above.
I hope that 5 or 10 years from now, the rice fields are still rice fields and not some golf courses where some corrupt individuals spend the time of their lives.
Anyway, the pictures are amazing. I hope you can visit Mindoro Occidental soon.
*cheers
I never thought they have that in Palayan... and I live there... nice pictures. Nicely done.
