Capones - Not Your Ordinary Island

Dong Ho and I have shared and showed to you in our previous posts the hills and amazing rock formations as well as the pristine beaches and shorelines of Capones Island.
.
However, the island is not just hills and beaches but also has everything that a nature-lover wants. So, in my last post about the place, let me share to you some other elements and scenes not only on the beach and the hills but from some other things in between.
.
Again, I would like to thank my friend Dom and the Lingkod-Alabang Brothers whom I joined in this memorable trip.

Serenity

Briar

Steppingstone

Gather

Drift

Survive

Gush

Although we shared to you the beauty of the place, it is disheartening to see piles of trash left by fellow campers and tourists as well as writing of "XXX was here" in the rocks and hills of the islands.

As you look at these pics, please join me in pleading to everyone who wants to go there to protect the place and refrain from vandalizing and leaving their thrash in this wonderful island paradise. Let us be responsible and share this wonderful island to future generations.

  9. Hello Guys it's 08.08.08 and the start of the Beijing Olympics. But as early as yesterday, my blog seemed to be sommersaulting with errors that the comment section has been acting funny. Nevertheless, I think it is ok now 'coz the comments in my two previous posts have come back.

@ vanessa - we really had a great time kahit bumagyo. come to think of it, the bad weather added fun to the experience.

  10. @ the islander - thanks.

it's really sad how some visitors just rampantly leave their garbage behind. walang care-taker ang place kaya dapat di nila abusuhin ang island.

minsan tuloy kakalungkot magblog about a new place kasi baka puntahan ng mga unconcerned tourists.

  11. @ the dong - yup sa dulo yan noong second day natin. sayang wala ako kuha ng improved mega dike. ganda pa naman ng ginawa natin doon.

all excellent! were you using some filters?

    thanks for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Your photos are absolutely stunning.....and the ignorance of people around the world never ceases to amaze me.....(leaving trash, vandalizing...as if they are the only ones on the planet!)...... a very happy 080808 to you as well...my son (who lives in Beijing) says the excitement is UNBELIEVABLE.....the chinese being so into numbers!!!!

  61. Those stones are really superb my friend.... Its awesome.... How they are that much colorful?

    ReplyDelete
  72. @ em - madami halama doon na may tinik. it added some sort mystery about the place.

i am using filter in some shots kaya lang medyo makulimlim kaya yung iba wala na filters.

    ReplyDelete
  73. @ neva - thanks. i am watching the opening ceremonies on tv and it is really, really spectacular.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  79. @ daniel j santos - thank you. it is my pleasure to share what my country can offer to you.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  81. i like the briar photo because it makes me feel a sense of struggle in it but at the same time it gives you an impression that there is hope and light and triumph at the end of that struggle.
    wonderful job as always!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I like all the photos but i like the briar the most. It's like you have to pass the torns before you could go to the beach.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Great images. I particularly loved the first one.

    ReplyDelete
  84. paradise, captured. galing talaga. abogado, hearthrob pati tapos ngayon, seasoned photographer pa! Idol! :-)

  88. Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos of such a fantastic place which I will never be able to see in private.
I don’t know what one could do to prevent some people from vandalizing and leaving their trash all around they find themselves. I don’t know what kind of people they are when they don’t care about nature in which they like to enjoy and who don’t care about other generations that come. That really makes me angry.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  90. @ prinsesamusang - you know what? other than the leafless tree taht we call the firetree, the plant with torns is among my favorite subject there because like what you have said, it symbolizes difficulties amidst the beauty of the island.

    ReplyDelete
  91. @ vinzent - somewhat mystical, don't you think? what comes to mind is medieval times when a castle is surrounded by torns and that one has to pass these torns to find the island's beauty.

ok, i am imagining a bit...

    ReplyDelete
  92. @ ash - thanks ash. i like that pic too. it is kinda magical how it survived without leaf.

    ReplyDelete
  93. @ r-yo - abogado ka na nga panyero lols. one out of three lang ako sa sinabi mo.

    abogado - yes
    hearthrob - ngek
    seasoned photographer - malayo pa

    ReplyDelete
  94. @ tutubi - oo nga. ano kaya napapala nila doon. sinisira lang nila yung ganda ng island.

    ReplyDelete
  95. @ joy - i usually travel twice a month and either my dslr or my point and shoot digital is my constant companion. thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  96. @ richard the adventurer - basta tapusin mo muna pag-aaral mo. then pag kumikita ka na, makakapag-adventure ka na kung saan mo gusto. kita mo ko, wala ako savings kasi puro libot lols. buti pa si dong marami na pang lakwatsa.

    ReplyDelete
  97. @ medam - thank you.

these people are really ignorant of the consequences of their acts. i personally think that awareness is the key for th to stop vandalizing and throwing their garbage there.

    ReplyDelete
  98. very nice, ls! :D i love the shots

    ReplyDelete
  99. Freaking Brill!

The first photo was just great... til I saw Drift and Gush.

    ReplyDelete
  102. @ kris jasper van dyke - thanks kj. the drift photo is inspired by castaways while the gush photo is a thank you photo for we used that fresh water for freshing-up after a dip to the beach.

    ReplyDelete
  103. @ pts - i cannot agree more. thanks for the visit.

    ReplyDelete
  104. @ digital polaroids - the feeling was mutual.

    ReplyDelete
  105. @ ms. hays - thank you. the island is really a landscapists dream that you can shoot at any angles.

    ReplyDelete
  106. @ marie - thank you marie. i appreciate it a lot.

    ReplyDelete
